Fourier analysis of torques time series
The power density spectra of the torques series were calculated with an FFT routine from Numerical Recipes.
PDS
The plots show the PDS of the different torque contributions from inner disk,
outer disk and total torques (all of them excluding the Roche lobe) in logarithmic scale.
The table shows the position and magnitude of the maxima of the PDS from
inner and outer disk for the
inviscid models
sorted by the magnitude of
the PDS at the maximum.
The magnitude of the PDS is related with the amplitude of
the oscillations at a given frequency.
Upwind methods have larger maxima and the frequencies correspond roughly to
the Keplerian frequencies at the gap edges.
This is consistent with larger vortices being observed in the density maps of
upwind methods calculations.
