Fields of research

High energy astrophysics
Accretion onto black holes in galactic X-ray binaries and in Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN).
Accretion onto magnetic white dwarfs (polars or AM Her systems).
Accretion onto magnetic neutron stars (accretion driven X-ray pulsars).
Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs)

Methods of data analysis
Time series analysis.
Coded mask data analysis.



Instrument projects
INTEGRAL: ESA X/gamma-ray satellite launched in October 2002. Member of the JEM-X team which provided the X-ray monitor for this mission. Developed part of the data analysis software.
Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope. A US-international project launched on 11 June 2008. Sweden has provided detector hardware and I am part of the science teams on AGNs/Blazars, Gamma Ray Bursts and Galactic binaries.
PoGOLite: Polarized Gamma-ray Observer. A really exciting project to fly a series of balloon missions to make the first serious attemt to search for and to study polarisation in the hard X-ray/soft gamma-ray range. Observation simulation and analysis. First flight is scheduled for August 2010.
