The high energy astrophysics group is part of the team that will deliver the X-ray monitor, JEM-X, for the INTEGRAL satellite. INTEGRAL is an ESA satellite dedicated to spectroscopy and imaging of hard X-ray and gamma-ray sources. The launch of the satellite is scheduled for 2001. The group in Stockholm participates in the development of the science software for JEM-X. JEM-X is a coded mask instrument, so the task of the software is to deconvolve detector images and extract light curves and spectra for individual sources.

The group also participates in the experimental and/or theoretical teams for the Spectrum Röntgen-Gamma (SRG) satellite, Ballerina (a mainly Danish gamma-ray burst mission), the Experiment for X-ray Timing and Relativistic Astrophysics (EXTRA), and the Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) .
