Astronomy on TV

There will be astronomy on TV already tonight. SVT2 Vetenskapens värld is showing BBC's space series 'Space Odyssey' about a trip through the solar system. Perhaps more fiction than science, but surely exciting.

On Wednesday, March 9 SVT Kunskapskanalen will air several features on astronomy. The main feature at 20.00 is the hour-long programme 'Blixtar från stjärnorna' (Flashes from the stars), about gamma-ray bursts. Jesper Sollerman from Stockholm University will be a guest in the studio. After this there will also be some shorter features on the cosmic background radiation and cosmology with contributions from, among others, Bengt Gustavsson, astronomer in Uppsala and Joakim Edsjö, a physicist from Stockholm.
